| Rick Macy teaches Film Acting for Adults and Youth |

Rick Macy is the director and instructor of The Actor’s Academy. He hasstudied the
art and craft of acting for nearly 33 years. His early training was in theatre graduating from Brigham Young University in 1982 with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Theatre and Cinematic Arts with a minor in Psychology of Human BehaviorWhile there, he studied with noted
classically trained British actor Bernard Brown from The Royal Shakespeare Academy from London, England. Classical movement, Shakespearian text work
and diction were the focus of the training. Studying also with nationally renowned vocal instructors Evangeline Machlin
from Boston, Massachusetts, and Mary Corrigan from San Diego State University, Mr. Macy began his knowledge
and learning of vocal production, physical and vocal relaxation, diction, articulation and dialects. He has a Master of Arts in
Education with a Teachers Certificate from the University of Phoenix where he graduated with honors and currently teaches at Paradigm High School. A liberal arts charter school
where Mr. Macy is chairman of the Fine Arts department. His film acting training began
when he auditioned and was accepted in the acting workshops of the Academy Award winning director Tad Danielewsky. Intensive
film acting training, which lasted for three and a half years. In 1980, Mr. Macy won the regional
Irene Ryan Award. A scholarship and competition awarded to exceptional performance in acting. He went on, that
year, to perform nationally inWashington D.C. at the Kennedy Center as a National Irene Ryan Award Finalist. Rick Macy has appeared in nearly
40 professional and semi-professional plays. His most recent theatrical endeavor took him to the Provo Theatre Company.
There he directed their season opener, Neil Simons’ Prisoner of Second Avenue. PTC’s second show Deathtrap, by Ira Levin, Mr. Macy performed the lead role of
Sidney Bruhl. His film and television career has attracted him to most of the national television
networks. Working in projects produced by HBO, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, Columbia Tri-Star Pictures and The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. Rick Macy’s most cherished work has been with the LDS Church where he
was privileged to portray such church historical figures as Zera Pulsipher, Martin Harris, and Joseph Smith, Sr. He also had
the extraordinary privilege of performing in the IMAX film The Testaments, Of One Fold and One Shepard, as Helam. Written and directed my Academy
Award Director Kieth Merrill. Other LDS films include Joseph Smith. Prophet of the Restoration where Mr. Macy portrays
Father Smith. Mr. Macy has also been a casting director for Feature Films for Families and
for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Rick Macy began teaching at The Actor's Academy since
its inception in 1992. He became its Managing Director in 1996.
